Commercial real estate brokers in local and regional markets were underserved by large national platforms not built around their needs. REsimplifi saw an opportunity to build something better — a regionally focused, broker-first MLS platform tailored to the Southeast.
Integral partnered with REsimplifi to design and build their platform from the ground up, leveraging open source technology to keep costs down without compromising capability. The result was a competitive, map-driven commercial real estate platform that has grown to over 250 brokers and thousands of listings across the Southeast.

Define the decision
Commercial real estate brokers in regional markets make consequential decisions every day on behalf of their clients:
- Which properties are available in this market?
- What is the right space for our needs?
- How do we evaluate and compare listings quickly and confidently?
Those decisions were being made without a platform built for them. Large national commercial real estate platforms prioritized scale over local relevance, leaving regional brokers without the tools to manage their listings, showcase their expertise, and serve clients in their specific markets.
For REsimplifi, the decision to solve was straightforward:
How do you build a broker-first, regionally focused commercial real estate platform that gives brokers the tools to manage listings, build their profiles, and deliver a better client experience than anything else available in their market?
REsimplifi’s vision: a locally focused, community-driven alternative to national commercial real estate platforms, built around the markets that matter most to brokers and their clients. -
Design the system
Integral partnered with REsimplifi to design a platform built around the real needs of commercial real estate brokers in regional markets. From the outset, open source technology was central to the design strategy, allowing REsimplifi to maximize capability while managing costs as a startup.
The system design focused on:
- Building a map-driven search and listing experience tailored to broker and client workflows
- Giving brokers tools to create, manage, and showcase their listings and profiles
- Supporting teaming and organizational management across brokerage firms
- Leveraging crowd-sourced, broker-maintained data to keep listings accurate and current
- Designing for both desktop and mobile to support brokers and clients wherever they work
- Selecting open source infrastructure to maximize platform capability within budget constraints
The result was a clear architecture for a regionally focused, broker-first platform built to compete in the Southeast commercial real estate market and expand beyond it.

Build the platform
Integral designed and built REsimplifi’s platform from the ground up using open source technology to deliver a full-featured commercial real estate MLS and CRM without the cost overhead of proprietary systems.
Core platform capabilities included:
- Map-driven property search with filtering by sale, lease, status, and property type
- Individual property listing pages with aerial imagery, pricing, lot details, and broker contact information
- Broker profile creation and management
- Teaming and organizational management tools for brokerage firms
- Crowd-sourced listing data consistently updated by brokers on the platform
- Mobile-responsive design supporting brokers and clients on any device
The platform was hosted on Microsoft Azure using an AppService and managed PostgreSQL database, with Open Street Map for basemap layers and Geocodio for geocoding. Built to scale, the architecture supported REsimplifi’s growth from startup to a significant competitor in the Southeast commercial real estate market.
A split view combining listing cards and a live map, giving brokers and clients the flexibility to search the way that works best for them. -
